Before starting to learn Trigonometry it is expected that the student will have a good understanding of basic Arithmatic. This includes knowing how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. It is expected that the student understands the order of arithmetic operations - sometimes remembered using the BOMDAS achronym. The student should know about powers and logarithms, and how they work.
