Mike Turnbull's Seismogram Download Form (V1.3.5)

Using this form you can download MiniSEED seismograms from Australian and selected International stations via IRIS DMC Web Services.

Fill out the form with valid date, time, duration, and data information, then click on the station from which you want to download the seismogram. Right click on a station marker to get information about that station.

Listings of all World-wide stations registered with the FDSN are available from their web site.

This is some text just to see what it looks like in this table cell. Eventually it will be replaced by a scrollable table to display the tickle log. The idea of the tickle mode is to implement a featyre where requests are made to the IRIS FDSNWS for data from a number of stations and the responses are monitored to see if the returned status and/or the amount of data is consistent with the data requested. Experience has shown that the FDSNWS server is configured in such a way that the manner in which the Australian GA station data is uploaded and processed by the server means that there are two time windows each day when the data can be downloades in a timely manner - from about 5 minites past 10am (AEST) to 10 minutes past 10am; and at about 16:30pm AEST. At other times (but often even at those times) it requires repeated requests in succession (typically 20 to 50 requests) before the server responds with the full requested data. Even after just downloading the full 24 hours of data from any station, a follow-on request for (say) 10 minutest of data from within that 24 hours requires a similar repeated request method. I call this repeeted request technique "tickling the server".
